You have heard the term, pasture raised. What exactly does that mean?

We are here to explain.

Let's begin with the basics.

Commercial Farms

The lifestyle on most commercial animal farms is disheartening and inhumane.

About 20,000 birds are confined in one barn or space. This is just the brink of how they are treated.

Free-Range

The very loose requirements for free-range birds have created poor oversight and conditions. Chickens have approximately 2 square feet to move about and access to sunlight is extremely limited.

Pasture-Raised

Pasture-raised requirements are just that, RAISED REQUIREMENTS. It is simply allowing the chickens to roam free in a pasture. The birds can forage for bugs, scratch, peck at the ground, and rest. They are given constant access to sunshine. A thriving environment! A recipe for a quality life and quality meat.

What we do

At Oxford Acres, we look at every chicken as a life. It is meant to thrive and provide.

When given a healthy atmosphere, nature's diet, and great care, they will give you a great return. It is so simple yet profound. God has given us a beautiful Earth and so many people are missing out on everything God has already provided.

It just takes work and we're here for it.

To this date, we have raised almost 350 healthy birds and soon will be placing our next order for the 2024 season. If you would like to take part in our growing farm, please follow us on social media, ask questions, and read our blogs to come.

We look forward to hearing from you!
